The Zoo; Sweet Baby Jacob; Football and fun with Ryan & Carissa

We have been busy as usual the past week since we got back from Bama. Last Saturday Mom came up from Austin and we took Jake to the Fort Worth Zoo. It was the BEST time to go to the zoo. We usually go in the middle of the summer (when all the animals are lethargic), but the weather was perfect and the animals were all out and about. One of our favorites to watch are the monkeys and they put on quite a show for us! So did the baby tigers and some of the parrots...

The tiger cubs were wrestling the whole time. We watched them for a while and Jake kept shouting "Oooh! I'm pulling for the one in the water!"

He LOVED looking at the 'snakey snakes'

This week I finally got to meet up with my friend Audrey and her new baby boy Jacob. We had lunch together with our friend Amanda and got to catch up. Jacob is SO precious and didn't make a peep the whole time!

He didn't like the flashing light too much on the camera, but he decided to wave here...

Our house is still For Sale and we have been showing it A TON!!! Seriously, its been on the market for three weeks and we've shown it 5-7 times a week. Even though its been really hard keeping the house clean and leaving on short notice, we are so thankful for all the traffic! We have two offers 'pending' right now and praying one works out. Because we have to take Timber with us each time we leave for a showing, we've been spending LOTS of time at the park. Friday night was very exciting for Timber! He had his first popsicle from the Icecream truck and he escaped his leash. He had the most amazing 45 seconds of freedom we have ever seen!

Jake had another football game yesterday morning. His team didn't score more touchdowns than the other team this week, but all the boys played hard and did an awesome job. Jake is doing so great with blocking for his teammates.

Yesterday afternoon Ryan and Carissa drove all the way out to our house to hang out with us. We were so excited!! Ryan watched his first Bama football game with Drew (and was exposed to serious football fever) and Carissa and I snuck away for some much needed shopping and girl time!

I love taking kids to the zoo or the park - it wears them out and they sleep REALLY well at night :)

Jake's a Genius........

His most famous recent quote.... "Well, welcome to my life!"

While fighting the air with his light saber, he says, "Don't do all these crazy moves like I do. I know what I'm doing....I've been training for years."

"I bet the toothfairy lives in the clouds so she can watch planes fly by.... what in the WORLD does she do with all those teeth?!"

Jake brought a transformer to Drew and explained the problem he was having. Drew said, "I'm sorry, Jake." He replies, "Sorry doesn't fix it, Dad."

While Drew is fast-forwarding on the TV, Jakes says, "You should really watch all these commercials, Dad. People pay a lot of money for them."

Jake wiped his face after I kissed him and I said, "You know when you do that you're not wiping it off, you're rubbing it in." He replied, "Well, I guess that's good because the love goes in. So your loves always inside of me and my love is always inside of you." (Awwww, this is my favorite quote so far:)

After finishing a game, Jake starting talking about his 'performance'. Andrew said, "Jake, you know that is considered bragging." Jake replied, "Dad, I'm just a kid. I don't know that much stuff yet."

"Hey, Mommy... Quincy knows how to tie his shoes." I reply, "Thats cool! Do you want to learn how to tie your shoes?? I could teach you." He says, "Um, no.... I don't really have time for that."

"I want Donovan to come over to my house one day, maybe we could have a sleep-over." I said "Yeah, we could do that. That would be fun." Jake said, "Yeah, I already told him I would send him an invitation."

"Why did God create boogers? ..... He had to know that they would be disgusting."

Jake, yelling from the bathroom, "Mommy, I need some help in here!" I stick my head in the door, "Whatcha need?" Jake says, "Can I get a magazine or something in here?"

While I'm speeding up to make it through a yellow light, Jake yells from the backseat, "Whoooa, people. Take off your seatbelts and hold on to your britches."

I ask, "What do you want for dinner?" Jake replies, "Lets rent a pizza tonight.

Jake asks, "Can we ride in the com-BERT-a-ble?"

Jake came home from school with a hole in his new shirt so I asked what happened. He said, "Don't worry..... my teacher said you can fix it with noodles and bread." I guess he saw my confusion and he said it again.... "Mrs. Renfro said you could fix it easy with some noodles and bread." Finally I said "OOOHH!! You mean a NEEDLE and THREAD??" He said, "Yeah, thats it."

"When asking his daddy if he could play outside, he said, "Can I, Can I?? Yes or no, friend or foe.... which one are ya?"

He was suppose to be napping, but after just a few mintues he came in the living room. Andrew said "Jake, you're suppose to be asleep." He replied, "I used ALLLLL my powers, and..... Nothing."

"Mommy, black Spiderman is my FAVORITE superhero..... he's NOT a bad guy. He just makes bad choices."

I asked, "What did you do last night while I was at work." He replied, "Wrestled with Timber. He ripped me to SHREDS!! .... They had to put me back together with duct tape.

While staying in a hotel, Jake was afraid to sleep on the floor. "There could be spiders down here!!" I said, "Jake, the spiders are outside and they aren't coming in." His reply, "Yeah, and they wouldn't even be able to push the button on the elevator."

Andrew told Jake, "No more Dr. Pepper today. You're bouncing off the walls and acting a little crazy." Jake said, "First of all, I'm NOT crazy. And second of all, I CAN'T walk on walls."

One night at dinner Jake kept pooting at the table. Andrew said, "Goodness, Jake...." Jacob said, "What? I have bad allergies."

Jake asked Andrew for some of his Pepsi at dinner. Andrew said "Jake, can I have something to eat or drink without you asking for it?" Jake says sarcastically, "Well, thank you for THAT answer."
